Since The Filipino Channel (TFC) has partnered with Direct TV Satellite, it has received some positive and negative reviews. Now you have to subscribe first to Direct TV before you can avail of The Filipino TV Channel to get a glimpse of ABS-CBN Channel 2 and/or GMA Pinoy broadcasts.
But over one million Filipinos overseas view The Filipino Channel globally each day, and TFC continues to dominate North America's all-Filipino programming.
And what do you see on TFC? Well, I can't say it's at par with American television programming, but the joy it brings to our Pinoy hearts when we see fellow Filipinos having simple (most of the time, corny) entertainment still keeps us coming back for more.

TFC's transition to DirecTV and Internet has left behind some long-term subscribers that previously received the signal from Galaxy 25 at 97W.
Not everyone happens to have access to high speed Internet (not by choice, simply location).
Not everyone in North America lives in the USA. If you live outside the USA then DirecTV is not an easy option.
They should fire whoever planned this transition. They're obviously embarassed by it because their website isn't exactly overflowing with information in spite of shutting off thousands of subscribers.
Bye bye TFC - we'll miss you.
